Lily's Senior Portraits

On cool mornings, I love to sit on my back patio drinking coffee and reading a stack of magazines. The birds chip, leaves rustle, and far off in the distance the cows moo. Go to find out, Lily’s family farm about 2 minutes down the road. MOO!

When I asked Lily if there was anything special she’d like to do during her session she casually slid in a request for photos with her pet cow. A photo session with a pet cow? No brainer. MOO!

Remember in September when it rained for about nine days straight and then we had that one Saturday when the skies opened up? That was our session date. We did family portraits first with Lily’s parents and younger brothers and took the remainder of the late afternoon to focus Lily. The farm is so big I could have been there all day because nothing says Damascus farm life more than corn fields, hay barns, and cow pastures. Enter Loretta. MOO!

Ms. Loretta is a Champion Angus Heifer. I know nothing about Ag shows, but I do know Lily was on the 2024 Montgomery County Agricultural Fair’s Royal Court for the past three years. That’s pretty great IMO! After Damascus High School Lily want’s to study molecular biology and study genetics in livestock. Seems like she’s got a great head start. MOOOOOOOOO!

And if you’re wondering, I only stepped in a little bit of cow poop.

PERSONAL PROJECT // FIRST DAY OF 10TH GRADE

If you asked yourself what happened to Greydon’s last day of ninth grade photos, you are correct in wondering what happened. Greydon decided his last day of school would be the day before it was supposed to be his last day of school. He was done with classes, grades were in, testing complete. So I let him skip school. I’m cool like that.

Unenthused that summer break was over, he did pretty well getting up and catching the bus. Per the norm, our two cats were up and helping prepare everyone for their day by offering to eat our breakfast leftovers. We walked him out, and he turned back for a hug from Dad and Mom. And yes, he’s taller than Fletcher now.

Twins Celebrate their 11th Birthday

WONDER TWINS POWER ACTIVATE! Nina and Nora don’t look like twins, but they sure act like twins. Mom got her girls a photo session to celebrate their 11th birthdays, which was supposed to happen in March, but it was too cold, so we waited a month. Lingering cherry blossoms were a definite bonus. At the end of our session, the girls and I had a March Birthday Babies party in the parking lot with some pink cake pops!
