Senior Portraits for the Guys

Senior photos are a great way to celebrate your soon-to-be graduate as we show their individuality, personality, and the promising paths that lie ahead.

How to Prepare

  • Keep it simple: This can be a source of worry for some, so I want to remind you that your senior photos are about YOU. What would you wear out to a nice dinner with your parents? Khakis, clean jeans, polos, button downs, sweater, blazer, tie. Choose your outfit so you feel comfortable and like yourself.

  • Plan your shoes: For casual outfits, clean and plain colored sneakers will work, but avoid dirty ones. Boots and loafers are great options, too.

  • Iron your clothes: As Conan O’Brien once said, “Guys, this is important. You cannot iron a shirt while wearing it.” Knowing that, press your clothes.

  • Haircuts: Don’t go overboard. Just a trim a week or so before your session is a good idea. 

  • Shaving: If you have facial hair, make sure it’s trimmed nicely or remove it completely if that’s your everyday look.

  • Think about where you want to go. Where is a special place you enjoy going? We can stay close to home and use your own yard, head to your favorite hiking trail, on the bank of a river, a local farm, at your school on the field, park full of trees, beside an old barn with peeling paint, or whatever else comes to mind. If you don’t have any strong preferences, I can make some suggestions.

  • Smile: I always have a combination of smiling and non-smiling photos. I won’t make you smile for every shot, however, a smile is always flattering and I will coach you through to get your best look.

  • Wear those colors: Have you made an early decision about college? Bring your school swag let’s show off your next adventure!

  • When should we do this? Senior portraits can be anytime during the year. Some do them the summer before the school year starts, wait until fall, wait for the snow, at graduation time so you have your cap and gown. There’s no rule about when you want your session.

  • Mini Session: $275

    • 15 minutes, one outfit, one location, 10 photos

  • Full Session: $450

    • 45-50 minutes, two outfits, one location, 20 photos

  • Personality Session: $750

    • Up to 120 minutes, two outfits, two locations, 30 photos. This will showcase your grad’s favorite activity (sports, hobbies, etc)

  • The pricing above does not include MD tax (6%) and a 3% credit card convenience fee if applicable. (I also take Zelle and a check if you want to skip the fee.)
