Where to begin. Emily and I worked together for years at Discovery and I was so excited when she asked me to photograph her wedding. I really have been blessed to have had some of the best clients/former colleagues who entrust me with their special days. This October wedding had all those warm tones that you think of. And Emily's bouquet was filled with the most unique florals I've seen - chrysanthemums, cabbage, persimmons, dahlias, amaranths, lilies, eucalyptus, silver brunia, and lisianthus. It's look yummy, I wanted to take a bite! They also had a signature drink of Soleil Normand - a Calvados punch with creme de bananas, grenadine and orange juice
Emily and Matthieu met online, like so many couples these days. They weren’t big on endless messaging prior to meeting, so they agreed to meet after each sending a few lines. They had both graduated from The George Washington University. Matthieu grew up in Normandy before coming to Washington for his PhD. Emily had studied French Literature at GWU and had spent two semesters in France. Naturally they bonded over everything French.
These lucky two have another wedding celebration in Normandy with more family and friends. After all the celebrations they will head to Milan, Sicily, and Florence. Take me with you!!
